IMD Student Uses Simplicial Complexes to Study Political Structures
In her research, IMD student and Wellesley College senior Andrea Mock models political structures using simplicial complexes. She uses these combinatorially defined topological objects as representations for political systems of agents and compatibilities among them and interprets political processes like merging of parties and actions of a mediator in topological language.
