Application Open to Serve on the NAEP Civics Assessment Framework Development Panel
The National Assessment Governing Board is seeking applicants to serve on the NAEP Civics Assessment Framework Development Panel. The panel will develop the new framework that will shape the 4th, 8th, and 12th-grade NAEP civics assessments. For those engaged in work aligned with IMD, this is an opportunity to bring in more mathematical points of view in the study of civics and mechanisms of democracy, fostering political quantitative literacy in K-12 education.
The panel will help update and shape the content knowledge and skills assessed on future NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) Civics Assessments. They’re looking for a variety of experiences and perspectives and from across the U.S. including:
- 4th, 8th, and 12th grade civics teachers
- Academic and research experts
- Curriculum specialists
- State social studies specialists
- District social studies specialists
- Assessment experts, particularly those with civics assessment experience
