IMD Co-Founder Speaks at Conference in Bosnia-Herzegovina

IMD co-founder Ismar Volić presented about the math of politics at Critical Approach to Political Representation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a conference hosted by the Center for International Politics and Post-Conflict Research and housed at the Political Science Department of University of Sarajevo. This workshop aimed to highlight the need for research into political representation in Bosnia and Herzegovina by reflecting on the challenges and successes of existing democracies, with a special emphasis on the role of math in government. Professor Volić, the special lecturer of the seminar, talked about the failure of plurality, the undemocratic phenomenon caused by our current voting systems, and the importance of quantitative literacy. Other speakers included Sead Turčalo and Nerzuk Ćurak, professors at the Department of Security and Peace Faculty of Political Sciences UNSA and Nermina Mujagić, a professor at the department at the Faculty of Political Sciences UNSA.
