Undergraduate Summer Research

Each summer, IMD faculty run research projects through Wellesley’s Science Center Summer Research Program, an eight-week program for Wellesley STEM students emulating the well-established REU model. Anywhere from three to seven students work on open questions at the cutting edge of math and democracy research. Some of the recent projects involved abstract algebra in social choice theory, category-theoretic approach to game theory, and applications of topological data analysis to voting. If you are not a Wellesley student but are interested in this program, please write to us as we are currently working on expanding it to students from other institutions.
