Summer workshops on mathematics and politics
In summer 2019, Wellesley College offered two weeklong workshops in mathematics and politics for high school girls as part of its Pre-College Summer Focus program. The topics of the workshops were gerrymandering and interactions of mathematics and politics. The high schoolers from a dozen states and several countries learned about the importance of quantitative reasoning and mathematics in various political settings and left the campus excited to go back and spread the word about these important ideas.
