Student Interns at IMD
In addition to supporting undergraduate research projects, IMD welcomes student interns and volunteers. Currently, we have several interns, pictured above, who perform a variety of tasks. On the left, Cherith Chen keeps IMD’s website running smoothly. She likes working for IMD because “I meet students who have an interest in mathematics and its implications in the world.” Cicely Henderson is the liaison between IMD and our affiliates and speakers, while also communicating IMD’s announcements via news updates and Twitter posts. On the center-right and far-right, respectively, Delaney Morgan and Hanqi Zhu serve as research assistants for upcoming projects. Delaney says “I love getting to do the math that has positive impacts on the world. There is so much hidden mathematics that significantly impacts our democracy, but never gets talked about. I think it is really important to change that.”
If you are interested in volunteering or interning with IMD, please reach out at contact@math-democracy.org with a short description of your interests.
