Opinion piece on the importance of mathematics in democracy

One of the founders of the Institute for Mathematics and Democracy wrote this opinion piece for Education Week, one of the most widely read publications for K-12 education. In it, he argues for designing and implementing a more robust political numeracy education that would empower all people to make more informed political decisions as well as demand change based on quantitative evidence.
