IMD Fellows Present “2024 Elections: One Year Out”
This Tuesday, November 7th, we are excited to present “2024 Elections: One Year Out,” an engaging series of short talks delivered by Wellesley students who are current Fellows of the Institute for Mathematics and Democracy. Together, we will engage quantitatively with the issues certain to be front and center over the coming year as we approach the 2024 presidential elections, from the Electoral College and gerrymandering to the power of voters to effect meaningful change.
Our Fellows will be delivering the following 20-minute talks:
- Primaries, Presidents, and Problems with Plurality (Leah Valentiner ’26)
- PR for PR: How Proportional Representation Can Save Our Democracy (Gabrielle Mackiewicz ’24)
- Districts Gone Wild: Geometry, Gerrymandering, and Democracy (Janaki Kapadia ’27)
- Worst College Ever? (Cammy Zhou ’26)
Join us in the Pendleton East Atrium on 11/07 at 5:00 pm, exactly one year before the 2023 election. The event will also be live-streamed on YouTube.
