IMD Affiliates at the 2024 Joint Mathematics Meetings Special Session

In January 2024, two of IMD’s affiliates, Dr. David McCune and Dr. Jennifer Wilson, helped organize a Special Session on the Mathematics of Decisions and Games at the Joint Mathematical Meetings in San Francisco, CA. This event, part of the largest mathematics gathering in the world, was devoted to talks on decision theory, social choice theory, and game theory. 

Several of the presenters were also IMD affiliates who contributed their expertise on ranked-choice voting (Dr. Adam Graham-Squire), axiomatic characterization of split cycle (Dr. Wesley Holliday), simplicial complexes and political structures (IMD Co-Founder Dr. Ismar Volić), and the scale-invariant Hirsch citation index (Dr. William Zwicker).
