IMD Affiliate Marion Campisi Publishes A Paper in Election Law Journal
IMD affiliates Marion Campisi, Thomas Ratliff, Stephanie Somersille, and their coauthor Ellen Veomett are introducing a new method for quantifying partisan gerrymandering in their paper “The Geography and Election Outcome (GEO) Metric: an Introduction.” Unlike previous methods, the GEO metric utilizes both partisan data and geographic information, while still being straightforward to compute and understand. Their paper was accepted for publication in Election Law Journal and includes more details about this metric and how it applies to recent election results. It is available to read here.
