AMS Office of Government Relations Opportunities
The AMS Office of Government Relations (OGR) is an organization that advocates for mathematicians at the federal level. IMD affiliate Karen Saxe and others at the AMS OGR advocate for education in the mathematical sciences, NSF funding for research, and immigration and visa policies for students in STEM fields. They offer three funded fellowships for mathematicians to engage in this work in Washington DC. You can find out more about these opportunities at their website, as well as get advice on how to communicate with Congressional delegations, learn about the legislation the AMS OGR endorses, and more.
